The Matrix Opening
Little is understood about the Matrix, beyond that fact that it can turn a normal Cybertronian into a Prime. In truth it is a font, a container of Primus' power, granting it the power to create Sparks. It holds within it the memories, Wisdom and Strength of past Primes.
Only those chosen by the Matrix itself may become a Prime, and simply carrying does not equal Primehood despite what most would think.
The Matrix also holds the power to purify evil energies, which is why it is feared by many villainous entities
